Today our guest blogger reminds us of the importance of using quality content in our guest blogging campaign. Whether choosing guest posts for your own website, or tweaking the quality of the content you’re submitting to another site, keep these following tips in mind!
Be Choosy About Guest Bloggers
I’m very selective when considering what posts to accept for my sites. In fact, for my personal blog, I don’t accept any unsolicited guest posts! I do have other sites that I routinely take guest posts for, including one site that is mostly guest posts. But that doesn’t mean that I have to take anything that comes along.
I have very specific guidelines available online for anyone who wants to write for any of my sites. The first thing that I look for is that a potential guest poster follows all of those instructions — if they don’t, I’ll tell them ‘thanks, but no thanks.’
From there, it’s a question of if they have anything interesting to say. I almost exclusively look for guest posts based on the writer’s experiences, not just an informational article. That’s a personal preference, of course, but it’s also what performs well on my sites.
