Guest blogging can be a hit or miss experience. Even for experienced writers, not everything you write is suitable or interesting to a particular audience.
Learn how to have them coming back for more:
1. Be very familiar with the blog where you plan to write a guest post. Become familiar with the flavor, vibe and mission of the blog. I also learn what I can about the creator of the blog and their own story.
2. Read the other current and previous posts. Try to discover a theme or writing style that seems to permeate throughout. Also, find the author who posts the most and how many comments he / she receives.
3. Write from your heart and experience. Be yourself, whether it is quirky, humorous, educational or informational, be your own style. Your audience is drawn not only to your words but how you say them based on who you are.
Guest blogging has been the best way for me to connect with different people from all over the world. It also keeps my writing chops greased and improving. Mostly, I have fun and enoy sharing who I am.
