Guest blogging is one of the very best ways to get yourself in front of a new audience. If the guest blog venue is chosen thoughtfully, as it should be, it’s also a nice opportunity for the host blog to introduce its readers to a new voice that may be of interest to them.
The very fact of appearing as a guest at someone else’s blog gives you instant credibility that is difficult to achieve elsewhere, without a lot of additional time and work, as you receive the tacit endorsement and goodwill of the hosting blog (it’s like the online version of being the guest comedian on the Johnny Carson show!).
You also, of course, get the benefit of the additional backlink to your site, which helps out generally with site visibility and SEO–you want to collect as many legitimate backlinks as possible.
Guest blogging is an effective blog- and fan-building strategy, one that I always recommend to my clients.
