Guest Blogging and Using Guest Bloggers – Why Both Work

Today’s guest blogger knows all about the benefits of this simple, yet powerful, strategy. She guest blogs and works with guest bloggers on her own site. See what she has to say about the benefits of both:

Guest Blogging is Valuable

I love guest blogging! Iboth guest write for others (most notably www.theworkathomewoman.com) and Ialso host an Expert Blogger Panel on my own site, Market Mommy, (http://www.marketmommy.com/expert-blogger-panel/)

Guest Blogging is very valuable for me for a couple reasons. TWAHW is exactly my target market. So, the ladies reading my [guest] posts are all potential clients. In addition, she has a Google page rank of 4, so the SEO benefits are awesome.

Because of my guest blogging, I also was able to become her marketing expert on her forum, for her new “Ask the Expert” feature. This is a great honor and offers me even more exposure! I get weekly click throughs from her site and have had many women tell me they found me there.

I love having guest bloggers, too, because it gives me new and fresh content from a different perspective. I ask that they write about a topic that pertains to mom entrepreneurs (my audience) and then they take it from there. The content is great for my SEO and when they share their posts it exposes my brand to a new audience that is also mainly my target market.

Guest Bloggers Know Something You Don’t

Today’s guest blogger, Janet Barclay, shares her experience using guest bloggers and reminds us of a very big benefit of using guest bloggers - they know something we don’t…

Use Guest Bloggers for an Expanded Base of Knowledge

I have welcomed one or two guest bloggers per month on my blog, Your Organizing Business, since I started it in 2009. For the most part, they are members of my target market, often sharing their expertise about subjects that would not be a good fit for their own blogs.

Occasionally, my guests come from other industries, but the posts are always directly focused on my target market.

Guest bloggers have allowed me to provide my readers with valuable information over and above my own knowledge, without the need for me to devote time and energy to researching and writing the post.

My most recent guest blogger is an active user of social media with a loyal following, and because of this, her post generated a high number of comments and shares from people who were not previously aware of my blog.

Janet was a professional organizer from 2002 to 2008, during which time she developed a passion for creating websites and newsletters and began providing these services to her organizing colleagues. When she’s not at her computer, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and healthy cooking.

3 Reasons You Should Be Guest Blogging

reasons-to-guest-blogReason 1: Exposure

Reason 2: Exposure

Reason 3: (You guessed it!) EXPOSURE

Guest blogging allows you to go from an unknown to an “expert” just by sharing what you know.

The Author Example

Let’s take a look at an example – an author.

An author writes a book on divorce. She puts the time and the money into writing the book, getting a profesional cover for it, adding it to the Amazon library… and then what?

She could wait for people to find her in the stacks and stacks of divorce-related books waiting on Amazon.

She could setup her own site and start blogging on the topic of divorce and directing people to her book (REALLY good idea – BTW!). Within a few weeks to a few months she could build a following and start gaining exposure and recognition as a divorce expert.

Or (maybe “and” is a better!) she starts looking for guest blogging opportunities.

She secures a spot on AlwaysNewYou.com. She spends about 15 minutes writing around 250 words.

Her article is read by 50 people the first day it runs on the site – and hundreds over the next few months as the folks at AlwaysNewYou.com drive traffic to their site. It’s shared across Facebook and tweeted around the globe. She’s highlighted as a “Divorce Expert” and a link to her site is now (relevantly) placed on a well-ranked site, showing Google and the other search engines that her site is worth taking a look at.

She goes from unknown to being introduced to her target market – all by simply sharing what she already knows and spending only a matter of minutes to get it done.

Finding Your Perfect Opportunities

Placements like these don’t just “happen”. That’s why we created the Guest Blogger Network here on FizzNiche. We want to give you the chance to let the world know that you’re ready to provide great content in exchange for sharing what you already know.

So, get yourself listed in the network and start getting some ideas rolling for guest blog posts.
Also – if you’ve haven’t already, submit your tips to our open calls for contributions. We’re always working on at least a dozen different stories – so there we always need great new content! This will give you similar benefits as above AND some great example work that you can point to in your  Guest Blogger resume!
